I acquired and fixed up a vintage ladies Western Flyer. The rear hub that came on the bike was a red band Bendix single speed coaster brake. According to my old repair manual, this style hub was made between 1962 and 1973. Unfortunately, the wheels could not be saved, and I put on a different wheelset to get the bike operational. Stripped the frame down, reprimed and repainted a metallic dark green to approximate the original color. Most of the chrome came back to a really good shine.
I'm not looking to make a mint, and this bike is by no means a collector's restoration - just a worthy American machine that I wanted to give a new lease on life to. what is a fair asking price for it?
