Next summer i'll be doing a ride that averages 80 miles a day with "freindship visits" at night, for people with disabilities. the problem is, i HATE banquet food (i.e. overcooked cold spaghetti, side salad, stale breadsticks) so i want a snack i can eat and still feel recharged on the way.

i've always been a fan of cliff bars, but i don't want to get sick of them.
also, no chocolate because riding in the summer just makes it a mess.

A few ideas:
Fig newtons or figs. Mixed nuts. Dried fruit. Trail mix. Bananas. PB&J sandwiches. Dates.

I love Al Rifai nuts. Nowadays you can buy them via internet instead of having to go to Lebanon.

Get the mixed kernels. They're the best. Spendy but roasted fresh and shipped vacuum packed.

why does this thread sound familiar?

I'm fond of bananas; raisins & turkey sandwiches, also water and Gatorade
