A lot of people are very quik to admonish people for posting without searching. After having just tried to use the search function on this forum. I can see why people go ahead and post. For those of you that are so quik to jump on them have you tried use this feature, and did it get you any useful information?

Search function usually works properly if you use good keywords and choose "in thread title". It's not a perfect machine, but it does serve its purpose when used appropriately.

You need to search for how to effectively use the search function.

I've used it with good success. It's much better than saying 'I'm a noob', 'This is a stupid question', or 'Asking the same question for the umteenth time'!

You did use the "Advanced Search" right?

They did change it a month or two ago, and it hasn't worked properly since, and I've been asking them to go back to the way it was ... but it is basically functional.

Yes, I use it all the time and it works fine. Many people just don't use search engines effectively.

I have never used the search feature on this, or any other forum. Use Google, and type "site:www.bikeforums.net" at the end. i.e., this:
assos site:www.bikeforums.net

I only admonish people who post in the wrong forum and spell "quick" wrong............
