So there i was, sitting in the parking lot signing up for the BB ride and figuring it cant be that hard. After all with the training i have done hills should pose little threat. Boy was i wrong. After a good 40 minutes of hills i was exhusted! The group the "will not drop anyone" seemed to be within reach on every flat, but the hills but me back a good 30-50 yards. My break came with a red light and a caught the group. Cool nearly a hour in and i had not been droped (although close). More hills after the light, and then a break came. my reay wheel seemed to suddenly have a flat spot in it and the power was gone. I look down and i had a flat, my first on the road. Only one guy noticed and rode on as I stoped. As i was fixing it the only thing i could think about is the box of 50 tubes back at school and the $8 another tube would be. Before finishing the A and the AA both ride by with everyone offering to help.
I'm back on my bike now heading back to a road i remember on the ride. I stop at an intersection and whip out my map... and at that moment remebered that the BB ride i was on was not using the BB map.... great i was lost. So I again asked for directions, something I'm getting very good at, and was on my way. I retired to my jeep and drove home. I cant really feel any pain yet but I'll give it overnight. So, to remedy this problem i think my weekends will now consist of 50 miles somewhere hilly.
time to look for a place i can do 50 miles safly.
