Could any of you recommend a good, inexpensive bike store in London? I'll be staying in Islington so anything close to that area would be a plus. Thanks.

The London Cycling Campaign have an Islington branch who probably know the local independant backstreet shops (http://www.cycleweb.co.uk/cntys/cnty-lsts/sth-lo.htm).

don't know about good lbs in islington not having bought there, but for info that can list them, try London cycling campaign (LCC), tranport for london (TFL). as for the chain stores which will be everywhere and not far from islington, there is evans, cycle surgery, action bikes. i don't like chains compared with a true lbs, but if you know what you want and what to look for it's not a bad option as you won't be requiring years of replacements/maintenance etc.
