My wife and I will be spending a few days in Myrtle Beach and Charlotte in July.

I have never been to either of these places and am looking for things to do. No bike related things however as the Mrs. will be 7 moths pregnant and unable to ride.

I am also not looking for restaurant recommendations, I've got that covered.

Just some attractions in the area would be nice.

Thanks.

Anybody?

Someone has got to live in or know the area.

Besides the beach?!
Check out Brookgreen Gardens in Myrtle Beach. It's south of the main drag. It's a privately owned sculpture garden.

Charlotte has Carowinds, an amusement park, and the National Whitewater Center. Both are a day well spent. If you're into Nascar there is also Lowes Motor Speedway and the Nascar Hall of Fame (not sure when this gets completed). Lake Norman and Lake Wylie are also both within 30 minutes. Renting a boat is relatively inexpensive and a great way to spend the day.

I spend a lot of time in Myrtle Beach, which is where I am now.

+1 on Brookgreen Gardens, and Huntington Beach State Park across the road. There's more than just gardens and a beach -- the Atalaya ruins, natural history museum, hiking trails and interpretive displays, zoo, and great boat tours of the marshlands and old plantation rice paddies. Great lunch restaurant at Brookgreen too.

You can keep the rest of Broadway at the Beach, but the aquarium there is really pretty good.

The beach at the southernmost end of Pawleys Island is a really neat spot.
