I'm thinking of building a cargo trailer. I just picked up two very nice 20" BMX front wheels at a yard sale for $2. That's $1 each wheel! Would it work to use them unmodified and use just one axle nut to affix the wheel to the frame? Or will I have to change the axle to spread the weight across? If so, how?

Depends of the design you want for the trailer. Best is if both sides of the wheek (both ael ends) is attached to the trailer, not just one.

Ths has been discussed before, try looking trough the stickys.

I think the Carry freedoms "Bamboo trailer" is a good design, unless you already know what to make.

You'll have a hard time getting things rigid if it's just supported on one side.
