I've never spent more than $80 on shorts or bibs and now I'm thinking about trying some better bibs.
I sent and email to www.tscyclingusa.com asking about sizing for Santini bibs.

Santini Bib Shorts
S under 5’7
M 5’8-5’11
L 6’-6’1
XL 6’2-6’3
XXL 6’3-6’4
XXXL 6’5-6’6

These sizes based on normal size person. Every maker cuts its clothing differently. We not only distribute Santini, but Etxe Ondo and De Marchi as well. Each of these makers’ bibs fits differently.
If you have a long torso and short legs Etxe Ondo is your best bet.
If you have normal torso and long legs Santini is a better choice.
If you are cut normally De Marchi may be your best bet.

Then you have to take into account the different chamois being used, and here it’s what is most comfortable and functional to you.
I guess I'm cut normally so what are your thoughts on the De Marchi Contour bib shorts?

Ron,

Funny, I don't have a "long Torso" but I need a large in and Etxe Ondo bib
(and I weigh 145#s so that isn't an issue). They are cut REALLY small. wonder whats
up with that.
Bicycling Hub ( www.bicyclinghub.com (http://www.bicyclinghub.com) ) has all 3 brands. Doug (the owner) is pretty
good at answering questions (sometimes a bit slow if he is out riding/touring etc.).
Personally, I like Etxe but I hear the Santini if VERY good.

Thanks Marty,

After re-reading the email from tscycling I'm now considering the Etxe bibs. I like a shorter leg and the bibs I'm currently wearing are longer than I prefer so I have to pull them up and they get a little bunched.

I'm 6' and 190# so would probably go with the XL in either brand.

If you do get Santini bibs, make sure you order the "Pro Cut" as they're a couple of CMs shorter in the leg. Standard Santini bibs run a bit longer than most.
