Northeast - Southern Westchester?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Are there rides that happen around southern westchester? i'd also like to ride in the city, sounds fun
i have a mountain bike and i'm sort of a newbie rider. In my early 20's. not in best cardio shape, lol
i like riding on the road and on dirt paths, etc..

+1, my club.
the majority of our rides tend to leave from mid/northern westchester. but, i'm sure there are many members that ride at your pace. check us out.

I grew up in Yonkers and in the '70s I remember riding on some parkway, maybe the Bronx River Parkway. I think they closed it to cars on Sundays. We used to ride to White Plains.
There was also a path that ran along the entire length of the Bronx River on the Bronx side. It may start down by where Mile Square Road crosses the river and parkway.
^^^
i might be doing that sunday ride tomorrow

they still close a 6 mile stretch (12-13mi roundtrip) of the BRP on Sundays during most summer months (I think August is the exception?).
The bronx river pathway also still exists. but, parts of it are pretty crappy, at least some of the parts around White Plains are. a better option is to head a bit west to the North and South county trailways. much nicer. if you're looking for that sort of thing.
hey, the bike Sunday was really fun.
lots of people biking and the Bronx river parkway. Walkers, runners, kids, a really diverse group

xmx250 - thanks for letting me know - glad you enjoyed it! that really brings back memories - I have pictures I took on real film - I was in HS and did the ride a few times with friends - one time there was a man dressed like uncle sam on a super old fashion bike with a giant front wheel and tiny back wheel - good times with good friends
btw that's a nice parkway to drive too, specially North of Yonkers
