HI
Been using the Black Keo cleats for a few months and managed to break one the other day, my LBS don't carry them, so I had a Red pair that were new in the box that came with my pedals, slapped them on my bike shoes and man did it bother my legs, it really was causing some cramping in my left calve and my glutes. PS I put them in the same spot and angle as the black ones due to the wear signs on the shoe.
Now every one says the black are hard on the knee's I guess I was used to them, I may have to order another set on line.
Does anyone use the black and prefer them to red. :

I split the difference and use the grey (4.5 degree float). Works for me....

Mine only came with the black ones and I haven't had any problems with them. I just looked through my manual that came with my pedals and it said that you change the float by changing the cleats. Sounds like you need to order another set of black ones.

I started with the red cleats (basically thinking my AARP qualification and history of bad knees would require them). However, I switched to the grey cleats when the reds wore out and I'd never go back. Much more comfortable. I thought the reds felt "squirmy" by comparison, and my knees feel better overall with the grey's.

I use the gray cleats with the rubber strips that help with walking. They cost a couple dollars more but are worth it to me.

I use the Red Cleats and have felt that same "squirmyness" I may have to try the Grey ones now.
I have no real problems with the Red though so it can wait till they break or wear out.

Grey cleats for me too. Black = too little. Red = too much.

I use the grey and like them better than the red. I am thinking about getting rid of the Keo's though - I think they are clumsy to engage. Of course it could be my inherent clumsiness....
