I'm going to push myself. I need to HTFU again. Big time.

Two rounds of kicking patterns, 50 push ups, 100 sit ups, 100 inverted sit ups, 70 alternate sit ups, punching/blocking sequences, lots of hard kiais and maybe an aggressive bike ride after.

I'm gonna feel goooooooooood. :D

Until tomorrow night when you'll need a big bottle of Advil. :p

I agree though, sometimes if feels really good to run yourself into the ground.

Sometimes I just need to let loose in order to relax. Brb. Gotta do the sit ups.

My isometric workout consists of about 90 raised leg pushups, same for dips and crunches. This scheme you have sounds like some king of kung fu training. Remind me not to piss you off.

Yes, it's what I do for warm up before MMA training.

And right now I feel like I need to let go of some pent up energy. I even rode alot this morning. Wondering if it's too late to ride right now with no lights or reflectors.

The last two times I rode at night I got hit by cars.

Maybe I should go lift some weights or something. But I do a lot of that at work and my arms look too manly.

To do all you can, good to take the steps in making that major change to be healthier then previously but yes indeed, good to work hard then relax after the fact, I need to make some changes myself.

Now that I read this--what are you HTFU-ing for--the MMA?

I used to do this work out on a daily basis but have slowly stopped the past year due to distractions.

The distraction is gone now and because of that I feel that I have to make it up.

What changes do you need to make?

I've become too soft the past year. I need to go back to where I was.

If only there were more practice/race days. I should really do sprints but it is sooo hot. If your arms are manly so are mine. :)

To overcome my own distractions, to get out there and get things done, been working on new goals and new objectives, to work on my health and my riding, so there is more to speak on and more to learn.

270 sit-ups? I'm impressed! You are definitely H-ingTFU.

I can't motivate myself to do any of the stuff we did tons of in high school, which is running, sit-ups and push-ups. Just too many under the bridge.

I have been distracted way too long. Tonight I decided to get back to ME. :) You can do it too. Just love yourself enough to remember that it's you who is important enough to do it for and that your time is your own. If you are not in good condition to do things for yourself then you cannot do for others.

Not all at once, I did them alternating with the kicks and the push ups. 100 to a set, another type in a set of 100 and then after kicks did the alternate situps.

I hope you didn't get hit this time. You should let AEO hook you up with a P7 :thumb:

what's a sit up?

those things that cyclists don't do (but probably should).

you ever see Lance with his shirt off? great legs, sure; toned arms, maybe; but he is Mr. soft white underbelly.

You're right; we don't do them.

We find better ways to suffer. Planks for two minutes come to mind, as does this other exercise whose name escapes me.

Amazing I did not realize it has been this long since the last time I was on Bike Forums, thanks Siu Blue Wind for the kind words, it has been awhile, and just saw this thread and figured I would check it out.

Since the last time I offered something I have actually been taking more steps, but even with a goal to Ride my Bike More and a Yearly Goal of 10,000 miles, I find it sometimes still can be difficult to put the action to the words.

With that understanding I remember why I used to spend so much time in bikeforums simply because I could connect, I could read and see others putting the action to the words.

It's when you lean forward to reach for a beer while watching TV. I thought everybody knew that. I do multiple rep's per night.

Go at your own pace, I've slowed down again since this thread but still I try to do what I can. Life gets busy ~ and again there are distractions. As long as you live your life right, work hard, give what you can, be honest and do no harm to others you have the basis for a good life. Because if you do right, right will do you. And the motivation will arrive.

OK, where are all these "muscle women of the FOO" pics Siu and Fuzzy speak off!

Got tired of people commenting on my arms.

Seriously.

At work this guy was talking about his starting to lift weights and showed people his progress by rolling up his sleeve. Another employee said "Siu's arms are bigger than yours, show him Siu!" I was so embarrassed, I left the room.

Why be embarrassed? I think a woman with muscle is incredibly attractive.

By the way, what would you think about using Tai Chi as an exercise?
