So... I am starting to get cold sweats....my first sprint is on sunday. 1000+ in the field.
Going to get a good swim in tonight and a light ride on saturday morning. Pack my transition bag and rest up.
Any last minute advice???
I figure from here on out.... its all mental!

no big you got it man. if you have been training well it should be no problem.
i did my first without training for the swim,i am no swimmer and i mean it, very much and it was the hardest but if you trained semi well you should have no problem

just got back from the pool...good last swim... around the 450yrd mark is when I start to feel myself gasping..today felt good.
I felt like I slowed down to conserve energy, but my stroke count was still the same at my 25yrd marks

Well... my first TRI is in the books... .Madeira Beach "Mad Dog" Tri. What an awesome time! Truly one of the most mentally challenging things I've done in my lifetime. Never stopped. Finish in 1:46:59. My goal was to do in 1:45:00.
Swam 1/2 in 17:48... I think I could have done better, but this was my first open water swim. Constantly kept getting cut across when people swam off course and decided to veer back..happened about 6 times. Kept a good rythmn and really kept my form.
Bike 15 in 47:56... felt good during the bike, kept a good cadence around 95, hydrated well and legs didnt feel like rubber coming off.
Run 3.2 in 34:22... UGGGGGHHH I really labored through the run. It was so mental. To top it all off, the last mile was on the beach!
Transition totaled 6:51...that was due to me trying to get my shoes on 3 times, adrenaline, confusion, trying to remember my hydration plan...and that fact that my wife and son were next to me talking to me. My bike was racked to the far end of the transition area so they had a front row spot to see me transition and gab.
All in all... I had a blast! Next one is August 1st!

congrats. With the first one out of the way, you know what to expect now and can work on shaving down those transition times, and getting a little faster!
