got a few questions, i cant afford to throw down 2 grand on a nicer downhill/freeride rig so im wondering if this big hit will be able to take the punishment, and if it is a good bike to upgrade....

I'd go with the frameset.

I'd go with the frameset.

What components are you going to put on that frameset?

I'd recommend this: http://www.supergo.com/Profile_Combo.cfm?LProd_id=25254&CFID=23368376&CFTOKEN=10737181

Uses the Specialized suspension design for a lot less money. Well spec'd, on closeout. Not too many better deals out there.

GREAT LINK! Iron horse makes a sick sick bike! My buddy just picked up one and I went threw and added up all the parts... and if you buy the parts it comes only... it ends up that you pay 65 bucks for the frame crazy huh! And the quality of the frame is so SWEET! The pictures do not do these bikes justice. They are massive. And if you are looking at just getting into it here's a link that's a little cheaper than what A2 gave you.. http://www.supergo.com/profile.cfm?LPROD_ID=24854&lsubcat_id=7&lcat_id=&referpage=

PS I hate to say this but it's really hard for a shop/dealer to beat/match the prices supergo has on these bikes. I'm all about supporting your LBS.. but man, these are cheap!

Come to whistler if you get that bike. You will have a seizure with all the fun you can have on that bike. Definately worth a week here to progress as much as a year in your skills.
