This is my Sunday model C
On this bike I like the 7.25 bars and I cut them to 27 wide.
On my 20 inch I like 8 inch bars and 28 wide.Works for me
I have both half link and regular chains on my bikes ,I cannot ell the difference when riding.
I go with what fits the way I run the wheel in the drop out.
I like brakes ,Because I ride a lot of street down town.
I will not run any other pedals than Macneil slipless ,They have sealed bearings
I like black,Chrome, silver and gray for colors on my bikes.
My headset is also sealed ,Kink ceramic
I use the shorter 170mm cranks.I can build alot of power with the shorter cranks.
I had 180mm before ,But they are too long for me,My bikes are in the 24lb range.
I like the Odyssey Aitkin tires for all the riding ,Bmx track,Park and street.I will not run any other tire.
I like a small front chainring and small driver in the rear. This bike runs 25/10
My 20 runs 25/9

Big bars.
Little sprocket.
One that fits right.
Sealed BB.
175mm cranks.
White cranks.
Depends. Aluminum when wet, plastic when dry.
Chain doesn't matter.
Soft comfy grips.
Touchy brakes.
Straight cable.
Aaron Ross colors. I've seen nice bland bikes though.
Mid-weight. 25 lbs. is like perfect. 30 is too much and 20 is race bike light.

0 pegs. 2 if I start grinding.
Slammed seat if frame isn't too low-slung.
36's.
2.10" front. 1.95" rear.

This is all on a street bike.

ChanceCoats123

how does that help?

Weighing less? You can prohop higher, jump higher, jump farther, more air, less mass means less pull down so more hang time which equates to more tricks. I'm 150lbs plus a 30lb bike :/.

its called a bunny hop.

minichamp31
05-29-09, 05:03 PM
Word. ^^^ I hate when people call them broncos, mountain tops, j-hops, prohops, etc, etc. They're bunny hops.

ChanceCoats123
05-29-09, 10:12 PM
Regardless, less weight means a higher "bunny" hop. And I'm pretty sure it is actually called a prohop when you pull up the front tire first and then follow suit with the back; while bunny hops are simply the whole bike moving up, but whatever floats your boats.

FuzzyRyder
05-31-09, 02:00 AM
No. its just a bunnyhop.

510 is a solid chain. Im running a 710 sl and its the nicest chain ive had, but for a solid problem free chain the 510 is your best bet.

just teflon lube it after.

minichamp31
06-01-09, 08:47 PM
Alright. I think I'm going to pick up either like a school bus yellow or golden color spray paint from Wal-Mart. I'm going to spray my pedals first and see how that goes. If I like it, I'm going to spray my chain, stem, seat clamp, and possibly brake lever (which I might be getting a small Ody Monolever for free!).

The ultimate old man bike.

Frame: Fly Tierra 20.6 (it's actually a 19.8)
Fork: Suelo Flatland Zero offset
Wheels: Odyssey Hazards with 9T Nankai Freecoaster/Primo front hub 3/8" axles
Tires: Odyssey K-Lytes Folding tires 20X1.75 (flatland tires)
Cranks: St. Martin Hollowflat 160mm
Sprocket: St. Martin 20T
Pedals: Shadow Nostra
Chain: Shadow Half-Link
Seatpost: KHE
Seat: KHE Tanaka
Detangler: Odyssey Gyro + Cables
Rear Brake: Odyssey Evo
Front Brake: Suelo
Brake Pads: Kool Stop
Stem: Le Merk 25mm
Bars: Kink 8.25"
Brake Levers: Odyssey
Grips: Oury
Bar Ends: Incredible Hiker Helpers (Delrin sliders to help with hitchhikers)
Pegs: Kink (grip tape on top, smooth on the bottom for grinds)

WEIGHT: 24.5 lbs. FULLY LOADED. (I've had builds at 19 lbs, but it was totally wack to have a bike that light).

I'm old, so I ride everything. I can do hang fives/tens (one handed), hitchhikers, steamrollers, decades, and a bunch of other flatland combos/tricks, but I can still bust wallrides, technical park, 360's, fakies, grinds, etc. All on the same bike. A raised seat and full brakes FTW!

LEARN FROM YOUR ELDERS THE MEANING OF FREESTYLE!! :)

Here's my 10lb. bike (it's actually called an un-bike). If you're having a hard time with hang 5's try something like this.

Leader possibly at a 15lbs?

Street rider
06-23-09, 03:46 PM
hes got a good chance. but to REALLY be leader, he has to have one of those cool titanium frames from eastern that only weighs like 2 lbs

minichamp31
06-23-09, 09:22 PM
Haha oh yeah. With Ti spokes (no offense to WTP), Ti bars, everything. Oh and plastic forks and no tires. Ah you know what, screw the rims too. But then you wouldn't need the spokes.

Street rider
06-24-09, 07:26 AM
you dont even need hubs. you could take rollerblade wheels and stick a couple of normal axles through em.

minichamp31
06-24-09, 10:30 AM
Hahaha.

FuzzyRyder
06-24-09, 12:23 PM
You don't need tubes either, just super glue a valve stem into the rim, and then super glue the tire on, vwalah!!!!!!! tubeless bmx wheels.

minichamp31
06-24-09, 12:45 PM
I wonder if that actually works?

eight pack
06-24-09, 04:11 PM
try it... take a pos rim and a valve stem and an old tire and try lol
