I am looking for a good mid range weekend ride route from the city other than the popular GWB-9W- Piermont/Nyack round trip. Then on google map, I saw a trail along Saw Mill Parkway (not the shoulder, looks like path with no vehicle access) but can’t find anybody recommending the route anywhere in the web. Is it not bike friendly or no fun? If it is, I would like to know how it is.. Going to Tarrytown and come back would be about the same mileage as the Nyack route from the city. Would be nice alternative.

This is the South County Trail from Yonkers to Elsmford. Connects to the North County (but nor directly). Check out the Westchester County Site for maps. You can also connect via a dirt path in Van Cortland Park
