Foo - That darn cat! What would you do?

I'm all geared up and ready to head out the door on my commute when I hear the cat at the door making gagging sounds. Uh oh. I need to get him out the door fast but in my effort to do that I startled him into running across the living room and down the hall way and you guessed it, he scattered the vomit in several places as he ran. :mad:

It's 5 AM, my wife and daughter are sound asleep. Do I: pretend I didn't know it happened and let them wake to it, leave a note about what happened and let them clean it up OR take the time to clean it up risking being late?

btw, killing the cat very briefly crossed my mind. :o It wasn't the option I chose. ;)

I'd do what you can to clean up a bit and leave a note.

Sorry I wasn't clear, this was over hours ago and don't get mad at me, I didn't tell you what I actually did yet. :)

Clean it up. It doesn't take that long (yes, there is a cat living here).

That happened to me once, but I had to leave (no time for even thinking about it) and I forgot to mention it to my wife. So, it wasn't that I pretended not to notice, but I forgot about it.

And it worked out just fine. :)

I say you should have cleaned it up. You had the opportunity to punt the cat out the door mid-urk, and failed.

I've grabbed my cat and tossed her onto the easy-to-clean linoleum mid-urk before. She seemed pissed that I would do that. :p

I actually was kind of creative but somebody will probably say I was cruel. As mentioned, I was in a hurry. We have a couple 7 month old mini schnauzers and you guessed it! I let them get the chunks and I cleaned the rest. :) The girls never even knew it happened.

Cleaning up cat puke is easy.
Try cleaning up dog puke when the dog is 100lbs.
Even better is when they get a hold of dairy and leave diarrhea all over the kitchen floor. Yuck.

Stop feeding the cat table scraps and keep the cat in the house so it doesnt eat garbage, birds, half dead stuff etc. outdoors.

Feed the cat Eukanuba "Adult Cat Hairball Formula" and see how that works out.

If it keeps barf'n take it to a vet asap. Order the presscriptions on line... try maybe Dr Foster and Smiths or other pet meds places for better prices than the vet.

It was rather amazing to watch. It was patches of puke spread over about a 15 foot area. I used Resolve carpet cleaner.

I have tile floors in 90% of my house, but the cats always run to a rug or carpeted area when they have to barf. I have no idea why. If it has happened while I'm running out the door I've left it sometimes, but then I'm usually the one to clean it up later.

This is a cat that was mistreated by it's previous owner and we adopted it after it continually hung around our house. To this day it is skittish around doors. I'm assuming he was kicked or thrown out the door often. That is why he scooted when I tried to rush him out the door.

Been there done that rapid calculation of cat proximity to kitchen floor and can I [quickly yet carefully] toss her? That woke me out of a dead sleep plenty of times. My cat will be in the living room or kitchen (hardwood and linoleum, respectively) and always runs to the middle of the living room where I have an area rug to puke. And it's always on the very edge of the rug where if he had gone one less foot it would have been on hard floor.

Yuk I hate that sound. When I hear it I run and grab the cat, put my hand over her mouth, put her in the tub then I close the bathroom door for awhile with her in there. If she barf's more its on a tile floor.

Anohter, in a long line of reasons, to not have a cat, or dog, in the house.
