Bicycle Mechanics - Can I use an Campy 70mm BB in 68mm Frame?
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Someone gave me a 70mm Campy BB.I don't know if it's Italian or English thread.
If it's English thread can I use it in my Japanese frame? I don't know how to tell what threading it is.
If so can I use a Shimano crank on it?

70mm usually means Italian.
Japanese frame is likely English threaded BB.
Plus the taper on the Campy bottom bracket is different than Shimano's and the crank wouldn't fit properly.
I just double checked the cups and it does have the specs, 36 x 24 so I know that is for sure not English compatible. So I know about the cranks now too.

I ran into the exact same problem a few weeks ago - no it is Italian threaded it won't thread into you BB properly.
