Pacific Northwest - Portland and vicinity
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I just relocated again... this time to Portland area. I'm completely out of shape. Haven't ridden in MONTHS. Any nice, flat routes you can recommend? Any slower-paced social groups out there?

The nice thing about Portland is you have such a wide variety of rides... you can make them as flat or as hilly as you like. There's a MUP that parallels Marine View Drive along the Columbia River, it's a pleasant flat cruise with great views of Mount Hood, St. Helens, and of course the river. It can get windy, though. Other flat rides include the paths along either side of the Willamette River downtown, and the Springwater rail to trail path southeast of there. I don't live there (too bad) so I can't advise you on local riding groups.

Check out http://www.rubbertotheroad.com/, it's the website companion to the eponymous book which describes several rides of varying difficulty in the Portland metro area.
Also google Springwater Corridor for info on that MUP.

They have a variety of groups depending on your speed.
