Mountain Biking - Memphis anyone?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I've read that Shelby Farms is overrun with poison ivy. Anyone riding there these days?
Where else can I ride here - I'm stuck here until the end of June for work.
Thanks!

If you do not mind driving an 1hr and 10 minutes, go to Oxford MS there are two pretty good trail systems. (Clear Creek/ Fruit Loops) Nothing very technical, but lots of fast single track and the trails are well kept.
I think any where in the southeast this time of year is going to have it's share of poison ivy!

i have not riden shelby farms in a few years (my parents live in memphis) and the only problem i have always had with shelby farms is the bike trails are multi use (walkers, runners, hikers, dog onwers, ect) and they do not pay attention
other trails, there was the "white trail" at shelby farms (it starts under the bridge of walnut grove and wolf river and goes to germantown road at wolf river and if you can find the trail head on the otherside of the germantown road use to go to within a mile of houston leeve at the wolf river) that was open to bikers but i dont know what the status of that trail (it stays wet alot and the it is clay)
there is also stanky creek, i dont know the status of it now, but it was more mt bike friendly and more tech. then shelby farms
my suggest is go by a bike store (if you are in the wolfchase area or germantown, bikes plus is still where i go) otherwise the pedelar is another good one (germantown and also highland, near university of memphis) and then there is bike world in collierville
PM me if you have anyother questions about memphis, also user Don Cook is from memphis, i dont know if he mt bikes or not though
hope this helps
I'm in little rock, and poison ivy is crazy here, too. Just get some repellant, ivy blocker, and hydration bladder and ride anyway. I've had poison ivy 4 times so far this season.
