Classic and Vintage Bicycles: What's it Worth? Appraisals and Inquiries - '83 Rossin 12 speed (help me determine its value)

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

mostly campy record components, all in excellent condition, and a new white leather rolls saddle.
I'm looking to sell this bike, possibly part it out?
I think its worth about $1000....
lemme know what you think...

Nice bike! However, I think this belongs in the sub forum for determining the value.

I have the original receipt from '83, Italian hand stitched wool racing jersey, and can of original touch up paint.

Looks later than '83 .... at least the chainset and gearlevers do. Also the colour scheme, more like 87 or 88.
Value? A 1000 yes, but what currency is another thing. Not usd no way ...

Take it for what it's worth, but I'd put its value close to $500 plus or minus a hundred bucks depending on location. I've been known to be wrong though.

I had a similar Rossin in much poorer condition with lesser components that I parted out for $750.

Double posting of value threads into the main discussion forum is frowned upon. Mods, please merge this into the bmblumen's existing value thread in the subforum.

Link's not working for me ... and believe me, if it's vintage-bike-related, I have an opinion ...

OK, all of a sudden it works. The color won't appeal to everyone and therefore limits value a bit. Rossin has a good reputation. Parts are a bit of a mixed bag. I'd say $600-700 as a complete bike. Jim says more parted out, and Jim knows parted out better'n I do.

I sold the frameset for $260 +/- in 5/10 condition. Unfortunately I dont track specific make/model of individual parts on my spread sheet, they're listed only as 'brake' or 'rear derailleur'.
A quick parted out guestimate:
F&F: $300
Seatpost: $75
Seat: $75
Brake calipers: $75
Hubs: $50

FD: ?
Rims: ?
Brake levers: SR w/o hoods $50 SR w/ hoods $100
