is anti spin system on pegs really neccesary??

yes....imagine this....left side grind...pegs spin slightly....loosen the nuts that hold the wheel on.....and, well, from there it all goes crazy....lol

it just causes alot of problems, the anti spin thing was a godsend back in the day

They won't really spin, if you have them tight enough, I grind alot, and ride some rails, and have never had a problem yet.

I have never run the anti-spin devices based on I read somewhere that the pin caused a stress point in the peg which could cause cracks. It made sense to me, so I didn't / don't run them. No problems with pegs spinning.

it really helps mostly grinding boxes, cuz the wood will spin them even if they are tight.

They help a lot more on the left than the right, because grinding on the right will (technically) cause the peg to spin in the direction that would tighten the axle nut.

I've gone with pins and without and I can certainly say that my pegs would get looser quicker when i did not have them. It's not like you go out with tight axle nuts and your pegs are spinning around by the time you get home, allthough this has happened to me. It's not something worth really worrying about, but for left side pegs, they really do help. Maybe not in all cases, but they do help.

The bottom line answer: For some people anit-spin pegs are great, for others, they just aren't necessary.

If your pegs come loose, then get some and see if that solves your problem.

seriously.. but, people dont often grind backwards for longthy grinds.. so your pegs tightness wouldnt be effected as much as forwward left side grinds.

Itt seems harder to keep the 3/8's from not spinning but the nuts strip easyer. Or maybe i just have cheap nuts. I just crank them down tight when they get loose every few days.

the best way to stop peg spin is to use grease...elbow grease, try using a longer length ratchet a little more leverge will do the trick.Also make sure the the retaining nuts on the axle are tight first.

I use primo jewels in the front.. they work really swell.. Bizhouse nads come in 14 mm and they also do the same trick.
