Tandem Cycling - Hutchinson tires

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I've been waiting for a month for a set of Conti 26" Ultra Gatorskins for my tandem, and still no sign of them, so while visiting my LBS I found some Hutchinson 26x1 folding tires.
1: Has anyone used these?
2: Are they long wearing?
3: Is one inch too narrow for a tandem?>
4: Are folding tires OK on a tandem?
Thanks
Where did you order your Ultra Gatorskins from? 1 month is an awfully long time to wait and still be waiting. A quick search shows these two have stock, and I am sure there are more:
Bikesomewhere.com (http://www.bikesomewhere.com/bikesomewhere.cfm/product/38/3431/14528?g=1)
REI (http://www.rei.com/product/768508)
3: I believe 1 inch is about a 25c tire. I think what tire width you can safely use depends on your rims.

We run folding tires on our Zona tandem. Maxxis Re-Fuse, 700c x 25 mm. Got 2,950 miles on the back tire.
Have also run 700 x 23.

Yeamac,
I'm living in Australia, (the bottom end of the earth), and it seems that even in this day and age we are the last to get our orders filled... either that or my LBS is Ultra slack!!
