Wow, that's rich coming from you!!

WTF is wrong with you ?

If someone disagrees with you, you attack, insult, ridicule and mock ?

Just because they have a different opinion ?

MODS:

this thread is now totally useless and needs to be locked or deleted. please stay on topic or get the ***k off the interweb.

you both have vaild points, please email each other directly, maybe exchange numbers or whatever else need to do to satisfy this alpha male, "my penis is bigger than yours" argument.

that being said, there is no room here for direct, personal attacks; I own that charger and do not feel like posting my experience for fear of being attacked or having my points minimized.

Okay, I've been reading, and looking, and looking some more.. I've accepted that flashlights work best and I already have a pretty awesome flashlight I would like to mount to my bike, but I have yet to find the mount for it. Anyone have an idea of someplace I can buy a flashlight mount for a http://www.surefire.com/G2-Led ??

Hi,

Did you find a suitable mount yet ?

:)

This mount (sku 8274)

Is very well recommended and although I haven't tried it myself, lots of people on here seem to like it greatly.

It attaches to the bike by snapping it on so you can mount and dismount the whole bracket quickly just by pushing or pulling it off. Only problem is I'm not sure how secure it is. It doesn't hold tight in place. I guess my handlebars aren't wide enough? I don't trust it.

Is of course the famous Fenix mount. Probably better suited to medium sized torches rather than small torches, I use one of these on my seatpost with one of DX's amazing high power red LED torches.

Mine came with black screws not orange. It rattles way too much because of the pivot. I stopped the rattling by wrapping cable ties very tightly. Unfortunately it rubs on my legs when attached to my seat post. I have it on my seat post because the other mounts had my taillight pointed downward too much. The seat post isn't perpendicular to the ground and the pivot allowed me to have it pointed slightly down. It's also too wide and big.

Is great for larger torches, it's robust and lightweight and works very well with my P7 torch.

This one is picky with lights. I have to unscrew the base of the light just to fit the light on. One flashlight worked but in a certain spot of the light and but other two didn't. I'm using 18650 lights and one is too narrow. I mean it holds it but I can still slide the light out when it's tightened all the way. It mounts securely to the frame. If the light is compatible it looks like it would work.

Only three I tried and frankly I'm not satisfied with them. It took a month to get my stuff from DX. One headlight changes modes from bumps while riding but that was with the rattling Fenix mount. Screw part is slightly bent. Not sure about the other light yet but it gets hot very fast.

I'm going to get a couple Twofish lockblocks and hope they work unlike the garbage above.

Well... This was quite interesting to re-read all the new posts since my last logon. A LOT has happened in the past several... months to years, I forget when this was posted :P

I haven't ridden for quite some time- as I have had a lot of other things going on, and finally am back to getting my life straightened out. It's amazing how fast this thing can get thrown out of whack- just about as fast as this post did.. hah. Anyways, I'm moved back home to West LA and have finally started riding again, back to the original reason for weightloss and after a week to two of on and off riding starting with some 10 mile distances and what not, I've pretty much finally readjusted to my seat- curse those saddles, and am starting to do 20-26 milers.

As to the light topic, yes, I fell into like, a spare 30 dollars and realized after a few night rides with borrowed lights that I don't need a massive billion cp light.. and got a 30 dollar cateye that's mounted. Most of the places I ride have more than adequate lighting anyway, but I now have to research these other lights for other personal areas of my life (I do plumbing and electric and random repair jobs in apartments where attic and underhouse crawling are done a lot... so I like bright long lasting lights, hah).. curses. More lights... gahhhH!!!!!

I just got my Twofish lockblocks. They're better than any of the DX mounts I tried. They hold the lights but they don't feel as secure as hose clamps. Honestly I don't think the lights are going to fall off. Problem with hose clamps is they take too long to screw and unscrew and they scratch my frame. If I didn't have to lock my bike everyday I would use them.

Does anyone know if the fenix mount will work on 31.8 handlebars??

Don't fret about the lockblocks. You just have to really torque down on them when you strap them to the frame. I've been using them constantly now for well over a year and I've never had a light come even close to falling off. Worse that happens is that it loosens up on the handlebars a tad and I have to point the light up or down a little after a really hard bump.
