Hey all..
I have been fighting a creek and pop on my road bike all weekend.....replaced the chain ring bolts (one was broken) still made the noise...then all of a sudden the right pedal locked up!! Just to be certain i swaped out to a platform and no more noise. A little miffed that my $80 pair of pedals lasted 2 rides. Any input?

I would return them to where you bought them, probably a defective bearing, once the bearing failed, it trashed the cup, causing the pedal to lock up when the next bearing came into play.

Any input?
Yes....
1. This is freaking me out, since I just starting using these pedals about 30 days ago. So far so good (knocks on head) and I couldn't be happier with them.
2. I'm puzzled you couldn't figure it out before it locked up?? I would think spinning the pedal by hand might of uncovered the source of the noise.
3. New or used pedals? If new, might not have been pre-lubed at the factory. If used.....well.....

I had a set of Shimano A530s start creaking like mad within say 500 miles. I'm definitely not impressed. You could try what I did: don't buy Shimano pedals anymore.

Omni,
Yea it is a little odd that the pedal didnt feel weird when spinning by hand....only made noise under load. They were new and had plenty of lube....

My 324s have thousands of miles on them without incident. I plan on a thorough clean and regrease next spring!
