Mountain - Plains - Bicycle Tour of Colorado - Anyone else riding this year?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

It's finally June. Is anyone planning on riding Bicycle Tour of Colorado the last full week of the month?

aham23 and I are heading out to join in the BTC ups and downs, but won't get to Glenwood Springs until the day before the ride starts. We'll probably fall over with altitude sickness. If that happens and you see us, just put us back on the bike and tell us to stop being a couple of sallies.

Anyone else going to be there?

I missed this thread.

Have fun and take a ton of pics. I hope to do the at least a few legs of the BTC or the Colorado Rocky Mountain Bike Tour (http://www.crmbt.com/) or my own unsupported Colorado tour this year.

And as far as getting acclimated; Give us more of a notice next time. With some minor adjustments, I've got enough free room in my home in Denver (not nearly as high as some mountain passes, but should still help) for a couple fellow roadies to crash at before tackling the BTC.

We're not riding BTC or RTR, but we live in Grand Junction and may stop by where all the BTC folks are camped out after Day 2. We'd love to meet some BF people!

We just did a 7 day, 300 mile, loaded tour of our own, from our door, circumnavigating the Uncompahgre Plateau. It was fun!

Look for the two jokers below. We'll be crashing in the gyms by night and wandering towns for good coffee and carbs by day. Recommendations are welcome. :)

Did a 70 miler on Fri to put in some more miles. Should have 1,000 miles under me by the time we leave Sun AM.

I'll ride in Pink or Green Giro D'Italia jersey from our trip there in 06 plus my local club: Amica's.
Orbea Onix. I'll be the slow guy up hill but you'll want to suck my wheel on descents. :thumb::lol:

We live part time in Grand Junction...over in the Redlands. I'll probably wander over on Day 2 just to say hi to a few that I know will be riding it.

I like BTC and folks who run it. I decided not to do it this year only because it is on roads I ride so much anyway.

Whatever you do, don't miss the side loop through the Colo Monument and go by Brown's Cycles downtown in Junction in see a fun shop/bike museum.

eofelis....wow...what a great ride around the Uncompahgres.
