I wanted to do that last year but couldn't find info on where/when it was.

Completely forgot about this year.

Maybe next year, then.

After a long ride on the weekends, after breakfast I will often have a donut as dessert

I thought eating tons of donuts fit into everyone's training plan.

Glazed rounds are easy to carry. Just hang them on the hoods.

Some eat to maximize their training, others train so they can eat whatever they want.

Spectacular...we need more of this...

On the normal century/half century rides, anybody do an impromptu support stop if it passes by a bar with a patio...really, who couldn't use a beer and a 30 minute break.

Training for something like that might be more fun...imagine, starting out a ride in Irvine, spinning down to San Clemente or Dana Point, grab a taco and a cerveza, go easy along the beach for 15-20 minutes to warm back up, and return....sounds like 70-80 miles of fun right there....

I believe that was Little Chocolate Donuts. To be eaten in conjunction with smoking a cigarette. :thumb:

Enjoy!

My Sunday morning ride is my "pancake run" - a 6-mile roundtrip earns me a full stack. Coincidentally, I get this at a "donut shop."

I ride to Krispy Kreme and get two bags with two donuts in each bag. Then I staple the tops of the bags together and hang them over the bars. When I'm feeling really fat, I'll buy eight donuts and use four bags (symmetry is beautiful).

This year's TdD was a lot of fun and a huge hit! I didn't knw that there would be so much interest outside of our UCSD-centric universe, so next year I'll be sure to do more advertising.

Here is our team writeup, and some more photos (note: none graphic):

The club I rode with in NJ had a "Freedmans to Freedmans to Freedmans to ..." ride which went from one bakery to the next with a stop for refreshments at each one. The first year I rode it I wasn't aware that the ride leader was keeping a count of donuts consumed by each rider so I was very surprised when it was announced at the end that I had won the donut-eating competition.

If you don't like donuts, you're unamerican.
