My VI stoker says to me the other day as we were blasting along, "I'd really like to give the front a go". My suggestion, after the initial shock, was, maybe on a grass track. His fitness level is quite high and he's really keen and enjoying the riding, so.......

What do you guys think?

Are you capable of sitting quietly in the back and not trying to steer the ship?

Oh............VI.................Would that be any safer than him riding a single bike?

Hmmmm......there might be some places and circumstances where it would work. Maybe.
I'd like to hear from someone who has personal experience about this to share.

Have had a visually impaired female rider in Tucson that's been drafting singles for years. She has low vision and seems to manage quite well.

She finally bought a tandem and always manages to find a captain to do the steering, but she is a very strong rider.

Find a big parking lot or a stretch of road that has almost zero traffic . . . it will give the VI a huge morale boost!

My local outdoor velodrome has a grass running track on the inside so I thought we might try it there, it will hurt less if we fall....I hope.

He's already pretty stoked about the tandem riding, so if he gets the captain's ride right I might have to fight him for it !!! Ha Ha
