How much of the trail is currently paved and open?

It's on my list as I work north this season.

Different maps suggest different things. Looking at Google Earth and Rails to Trails, it looked paved from the Pioneer TH down to South Praire TH and there an end. Little section over to Buckley.

The trails coalition map suggests that it runs down to Wilkerson.

Color me confused.

Any good places to camp in the vicnity?

I haven't done the trail in about a year but it was just paved from Puyallup to South Prairie at that time. I remember they were wanting to extend it to connect with the Puyallup River Trail but I'd be surprised if that has happened.

There has been a lot of talk about connecting the 2 trails but alas...Nothing as of yet. There are some right of way and funding issues...It's a minor walk under a bridge to get to a road that connects them though...The trail does indeed stop in S. Prairie and than it's hit and miss from there on out.

Camping...I can't think of any "official" sites within a mile or so of the trail but the homeless peeps have some pretty good spots along the Riverwalk trail...I know of a secret spot that would require a bit of a hike near the Meeker trailhead (it's private property though) or you're welcome to pitch a tent in my backyard (It's riverfront a few blocks from a trailhead). It'll cost ya a sixer of microbrew though.:D

Thanks for the data. Google E shows pavement down to South P. I had non considered the Enumclaw section, but that web site has got great pix: Foggy autumn/winter day. That's when I am down in SoCal, working in shorts.
