Did anyone see Green Day on Conan? (not to mention Tom Hanks!) They were ****ing great! Yesterday he had Pearl Jam on but Green Day kicked ass! and now I'm watching Steve Martin on Fallen along with Paul Simon! This is great! :)

I saw Green Day play in a back yard during a college party.

They were on SNL not too long ago. They sounded great, there were at least 6 musicians on stage, but it was a little boring...this new album takes a certain amount of patience to get used to...interestingly, considering your comment, like a lot of Pearl Jam did. I thought I hated it when I heard "21 guns" on SNL, I've learned to bear it on the album, but it sure doesn't jump out at me like "St. Jimmy" or "Jesus" or "Novocaine", etc. did. I'm getting there.

I heard Green Day doing a sound check early one Friday morning a few weeks ago, riding through Central Park just before getting to my office. I could have gone into the arena, but didn't have a lock for my bike. Sounded good like they had a pretty big crowd for a sound check.

They had a lot of energy on Colbert a few weeks ago.

A friend of mine got his band signed to their label (Lookout), the story is sketchy but I think it was members of GD that brought them to the label's attention. They would always hang backstage when GD played in Seattle. Friend's band did pretty well but they did not make the free sampler (http://www.amazon.com/Be-On-The-Lookout/dp/B00274DZMM/ref=amb_link_84301651_2?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-1&pf_rd_r=0RWBNCNXFHG5J156QREQ&pf_rd_t=1401&pf_rd_p=476790051&pf_rd_i=1000373121)for Lookout's anniv...

Green Day on Conan sounded great. Eddie Vedder is starting to sound like he may be tone def.

I've found that they are more aware of world events now than they were when they first started, which is great as a lot of bands never make the connection between music and world events, now they just have to learn where to draw the line.

I really like "Know your enemy". I'm 51, GD is the last "new" band to come that I liked since the original Van Halen....Everything else to me is S**T.
