Triathlon - Basic Setup Question, with pic

Hey guys, I setting up my new (first) TT bike and trying to get in the ballpark before cutting cables. I'm sort of confused on bar position, so take a quick look. I'm not looking for a fitting, just general idea if I'm at all close. Sorry for the bad pic, no one is home. I think aero bars need to tilt up to be level, and in the pic my left arm is about 1 cm back of my right arm (trying to try some different options). I also had the stem flipped up and that felt a little better. I'm not very flexible, current stem is a 90mm. Saddle feels good. Thanks.

You look a little stretched out. Most people are closer to a 90-degree angle at the elbow.
Thanks, I've moved the rest and bars back a tad.

yeah my set up puts me at about a 90 degree angle. you might be able to move your saddle forward a scoach or the bars back a little. My knees come pretty close to my base bars when i ride. besides that go with comfort. if you are comfortable on your bike you will be more confident on it. I've ridden my bike with a few spacers removed to put me in a more aero position but it made me uncomfortable and nervous in some corners so i put them back on.
but nice bike i like trek bikes a lot but went with a QR for my tri bike. still got two trek roadies tho.
And loose the bottle cage on the downtube and add a aero bottle between your aero bars. its more aerodynamic and added bonus you dont have to move to drink water.

are those the shoes/ shorts you ride in? you may want to change into your cycling gear before fine tuning your fit, as it will have an effect. i noticed that just switching from regular shorts to bike shorts or "faking it" with sneakers vs my road shoes/cleats had a good 1.5 cm or so of difference.

look at Dave Zabriskie's (US TT champion) setup as for you... first we replace the trek with another bike... joking looks good bring back the bars, agree with the change of attire to skinsuit and aero helmet try to keep your back flat
