Road Cycling - Shimano vs. Look

This is probably been asked before but I'm having a hard time deciding which set of clipless pedals I want. I've narrowed it down to either look cx 6's or shimano pd 7750's, both are comparable in almost every regard. I was leaning toward the look's but i've had most people i've talked to about it recommend the shimano's. I guess I'm just gathering more opinions, especially of anyone that's had experience with both.

Small platforms and ... from what I've read, poorly constructed cleats :\

Shimano 7800's. Although this is probably one of the few items not worth the upgrade from ultegra to dura ace. Save the difference and upgrade the shoe not the pedal.

I like my time impacts, but the looks pedals are nice from what i have heard.

I ride shimano, the ultegra version. Very happy with them. Nice and wide, cleats are long lasting. Ive crashed twice on my right pedal and its still going strong.

The newer Shimano's - I've never owned Look's.

Owning both, the only difference I notice is that sometimes I have to look down to get my shoe engaged in the Shimano - usually after a failed attempt leaving a light.

Campy Record Pro-fit.

Very lightweight (266 gm), easy to unclip, and hard to accidentally unclip in a sprint ( the part of the cleat that locks in is metal, doesn't wear, and is very strong), very smooth bearings. The only downside is that because they are so light, it is easy to send them spinning when trying to clip in from a stop. I

Sorry to say this again, but Speedplay is definitely worth a look.

I've been very happy with both my X/2's and X/3's.
