I have heard that there is a male bicyclist who is a high-level competitor. I'm told that he has been burned (water?) on his legs and such...and yet he is still able to compete in hot weather and all that that comes with it.
If anyone knows who this is...or anyone who knows him...I have some questions regarding how to deal with hot and humid weather issues. I too am burned on my legs and have a hard time dealing with the heat. Thus I want to know how he does it, what does he do to deal with it, and all that.
If anyone could help me with this issue it would be greatly appreciated as I certainly need the advice.

Thanks much,
Sania

I don't understand is this male cyclist some one that posted in this forums or something? What is burned (water?) on his legs. I just don't really understand? If your talking about sun burn then use sun block and for hot weather you need lots of fluids water and sport drink...

i'm guessing he means he got burned with hot water? and continued to train.
if thats the case you'd probably be better off asking your doctor. or you could try posting your specific problem on the training and nutrition forum, there are some docs here and they may be able to help.

David Millar has eczema and the skin cream he was prescribed reacted to sunlight and burned his leg.

Maybe that's it?

I think the advice to see the doctor first is the best route to go on this one. Having said that, I have a very large road-rash scar on my left leg that required some skin-grafting and I have a somewhat large burn scar on my ankle from a motorcycle muffler that lay across my ankle and just burned a large groove into it until someone came and lifted the bike off. The ankle burn is partly covered by my sock when I ride, so no worries. The road-rash I have to be careful with. It does get sun-burnt and has split before - which is very painful. I cover it with sun-screen, and if I'm doing a long ride (100 miles) will use a zinc cream on it. After that I always have to rub some type of moisteurizing cream into it (I like aloe-based stuff) or it can dry out and crack.

Please, go see your doctor. Some creams can cause skin reactions.
