Touring - Storing a bike in Brussels, Belgium

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

This September I will be touring Belgium with a couple of friends. I will also be returning to Belgium in September of 2010. Rather than transport the bike back and forth, I'd like to store it in Brussels for the year between my visits. I have another bike I can use while back in the States.

I'm looking for any leads or information on how I can go about finding a place to store the bike. Does anyone know of a Brussels bike shop or other place that would offer this service? Naturally I'm willing to pay a reasonable fee for the storage.

Thanks in advance for any help.

In Gent (65 km west of Brussel), I know of a bicycle shop that stores bikes of cycloturists. They do it for free, if the bicycles were bought in their shop. But I have no idea if they do it for other customers. But against a fee, they probably will. The shop is about 100 m of the railway station Gent-Dampoort.

On the other hand, maybe someone of 'Vrienden op de Fiets' may be able to help you. However, as you can only get in touch with them by phone, they might be quite surprised, to hear all of a sudden such a (eco)logical but rather uncommon question.
