Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - BikeIsland Jeff says Kilo is measured c-t....huh?!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Sorry for another dreadful Kilo TT thread.
"Hello and thanks for your interest in our frame sets. The Kilo TT's are measured center to top. We'll have more in 4-6 weeks.
Thanks for your inquiry.
Best regards,
Jeff"
I noticed bikeisland had only 50cm orange frames left, which I plan on repainting anyway. I emailed them and apparently the frames are measured c-t. On their site, it says frames are measured c-c. I know their going to restock more colors, but my main concern is frame size. I'm looking for a seattube 50c-c/53 c-t - did any of you have a problem ordering the orange 50cm listed on their site and receiving a 47cm c-c?

you should be more concerned w/ top tube length anyways
changing saddle height is alot easier than moving your bars
Yeah, another Kilo TT thread...
That said, looking at the sizing chart gets seriously confusing- 44c-c = 47c-t = 500mm top tube. How does 44cm = 500mm?

The Kilo TT is the only bike we sell that is measured C-C, so we often quote both sizes C-C and C-T [like 47cm {c-c** = 50cm {c-t** ]
I am sorry if Jeff got confused on this; however, there is a chart with these sizes on bikeisland showing frames measured both ways
http://bikeisland.com/cgi-bin/BKTK_STOR20.cgi?Action=Details&ProdID=1084
We have had a hard time keeping these in stock; but several hundred are landing in the next week or so in Black, White, Cream, Grape Soda, and Green {I think**
And I have ordered a lot more for later this year in all kinds of colors
Thanks
Mike

The 44 c-c and 47 c-t measurements refer to the seat tube length (in cm, either from center of bottom bracket to center of intersection with top tube or to the top of the seat tube, respectively). 500mm refers to the top tube length. Though, I don't see this size on their geometry chart.
500, 503, whatever.
I agree, though, that makes the most sense, but the language right above the sizing chart is brief and vague.
