Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Found: A Bike (yes, a bike!)

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Not too often one finds a bike in the bushes at work. I saw it mid-day yesterday and figured someone had trouble and left their bike to be picked up later. Still there at end of day today. Went to check it out and lo and behold it's fixed!
Had fun in the parking lot, but now I am wondering how to get it back to the owner. I am thinking someone stole it and quickly found out they couldn't ride it. I have been posting locally, and will put up a "found" sign in the building. Any other ideas?
For those local to me: Long Island, New York. 110 and LIE.

Try the cops. Could have been reported.

Great anti-theft device, going fixed. Chances are a non cyclist would bush it within a few blocks after he tried to coast. Probably stolen very near to the place you found it.

Whoa, that's crazy. Hope it makes it back to its poor owner.

my friend got a pinarello road bike and his harry havnoonian track bike with new phil hubs stolen last year on the same night. an employee at my best friend's bike shop found the track bike and it was returned...the poor kid never got his pinarello back though...he had just bought it that night too...never even really got to ride it. :(

Put up a flier or call the local messenger services or bike shop. Hopefully he/she is on this forum but that is unlikely.
