I'm looking for information on getting started in track racing. A few of my friends and I from OSU Cycling want to come up to Portland for some races this summer. Can anyone help me find some info on how to get started? Are there some training sessions for newbies or some place where we can learn about the rules and etiquette for the track?
I feel like I'm missing some basic knowledge to get started, and I don't understand what they say at http://app.obra.org/track
Thanks, I'll see you out there.

Perfect. Thanks.
I can't seem to find a link to that on OBRA anywhere. Say "Hi" if you see a big fat beaver out there, my name's Robbie.

I won't see you there, since I'm in San Diego. I found the link by clicking on "Schedule."

Yep, Wed classes are the way to go. Have fun when you come up here. Alpenrose takes some getting used to, but its a blast to ride and race on. They also have a bunch of rental bikes for $5 a session. Beware though, it's an outdoor track and you don't ride this track in the rain, so if you are planning a special road trip, plan it on a day when its not raining or threatening to rain.
