Hi. Looking for some options and opinions for smaller framed TT/Tri bikes, particularly the QR Chicquilo.

Does anyone have any experience with this bike (or her brother, the QR Tequilo, same geometry, different paint job)? My LBS thinks their size line could work me (smidge under 5'6", smidge more than 32" cycling inseam; 37.6cm reach).

Am currently on a 52cm Transition Elite (2005)--feels 'meh' after the professional fit to dial in the cockpit and other parameters. Required abit of bar chopping, and since I race in a straight line, the 70mm stem isn't so bad...But now I'm in the market for a new TT/Tri bike and would prefer one that seems abit more suited to my particular geometry.

Just looking for some general opinions first, as the shop would have to order and then build it for me to try out.

Thanks

Well I have a QR Lucero Lite and I love it. I just got it for this season and have ridden a bit and its an outstanding company. There isn't a difference between mens and womens tri/tt bikes as far as I know but I'm not sure how much of a restriction price is for you but I would consider the Dulce as it is full carbon and has internal cable routing.

As far as QR as a brand they are outstanding. the Chiquilo i have no personal experience with but my good friend who helped me get into tris and is female rides the Caliente and loves it.
The main concern I guess would be saddle and fit, which a good bike shop should be able to fit you properly.

hope that helps

I'm 5' 6 1/2" and was riding an older QR Tequilo 51cm with 650c wheels. I liked it a lot. I've just moved to a Cervelo Soloist as I wanted something that could switch between Tri/Road .... but the Roo is a nice bike. Simple and it works.

I've been eyeballing QR for a while now. I'm sort of in that relaxed buying stage, where I don't really need anything yet, but may pull the trigger if I fall in love with something. I seem to keep coming back to the QR line. (Just not crazy about the Seduza color scheme.)

From what I see, the Chicqilo (http://quintanarootri.com/G&C/chicqilo/chicqilo_spec.html) is a great value. The geometry looks good (though I'm not a expert). If you test ride one, report back to us and let us know.

I'm assuming you have an older aluminum Transition. The Chicqilo is also aluminum, but its geometry is much better at 78.5° STA. Your Transition is likely no more that 76°.

Have you considered the full carbon Dulce? Quite a jump in price, but if you're looking to upgrade....
