Looking for some solid bar end brakes, but i dont want them to pop off when i really need it to stop. I am worried because i hear everyone has this problem.
so i was thinking of mounting a smaller brake like this

place the mounting on the top of the end of the bar maybe?
Am i crazy or do you know if it will work on my Nitto Rb021

It'd work, but cable routing would be awkward.
I dont see any reason that correctly installed TT levers would pop out.

There wouldn't be any problems with cable routing. The problem would be with that lever. As nice as Paul E-Lever looks, it's not hinged. So you'd have to slide that lever around all those bends to get it to the tops. It a PITA big time, and it'll scuff up the finish of your bars if worry about such things. If you do this, grease the bars. It will help out a bit. It's a nice lever though. Pricey, but nice.

I'd go with this instead: http://www.benscycle.net/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=6089

I believe they intend to run it in the TT lever position, not near the stem.
Thus, the cable sticks straight up into the air.

the Soma Urban Pursuit bar end levers have worked for me for almost a year now with no sign of looseness or letting go.

precisely. the rb021 is compatible with bar-end reverse levers. install them properly.

I have cane creek 200TT levers on my RB021's.

Works wonderfully. No slipping or anything like that, and I use my front brake a whole lot.
