Track Cycling - Moving to Florence

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I am moving to Florence, Italy for 5 months starting in August. I wanted to find out if there is a velodrome in or within biking distance of the city. Also, anything else I should visit or be aware of beyond the touristy crap since I have never visited there. Thanks.

the touristy crap
Is some of the worlds best art. If just walking around the old city doesn't inspire you visit a few of the museums, you have no sole. My god, if I could return and spend more time!

I am going there to study art, I will be spending a lot of time looking at all the art in Florence. I assumed there would be a velodrome near the city since it is a major city and cycling is huge part of that culture.

I am having trouble finding much information about this velodrome, have you ever been? I can't even find to seem to find an address or locate it in google maps.
