Brompton folding bikes have a rear simple rubber cone suspension system. I (as well as some other users) do combine a sprung saddle with it for maximum bumps & vibration dampening effect. While it is a rather subjective opinion, I really like this combo system. It works well for me.

What's your plan? You can buy front shocks. Thusbuster seatpost, or sprung saddle.
