I have a chance to buy an all original (all the way down to the tires) Ross Mt. Whitney for $75. Its in pristine condition, with just some very small rust specs on the handle bar. Is this a good buy?
I don't really have a need for it, but it just looks so good (all chromed out).
Sorry no pics, but I'll post one if I decide to get it (depending on the input I get here, of course).
Thanks in advance!

Worth it as a keeper. Not worth it as a flip, as there is very limited interest (none) in vintage mountain bikes.

But as a keeper, it sounds like a nice deal.

Price went down to $60, so I think I'm getting it, just for the heck of it. It just looks nice.
Thanks for your input.

It's not well known, but in the early 80s, Ross competed heavily at MTB events, sponsoring their own team. They were quite successful until other, big money brands saw the money in MTBs and finally knocked Ross off of the top of the hill (so to speak).
That MT. Whitney is probably well worth $60. If you do a search I think you can find a ROss catalog on this forum from the 1980's. You might want to use Whitney as the search word.

Here it is! Sorry for the quality of the pic(cell phone camera).

I switched the wheels, installed rear rack, bar ends and fenders, then ' went for a ride along the Illinois Beach Resort. Over all, I'm happy with this purchase. Thanks to all!
