I got this Cannondale M400 (1999) from CL last week. Its the original owner, and I got all manuals and a Cannondale Video and the bikeshop receipt (BikePeddlers), even.
I was messing with adding a speedometer and spinning the front wheel and saw this:

Is this what you mean by a wheel needing truing?

Yes. And that's a good one, too. I would never let a rim get that far out of whack before truing it, unless that was from something that happened while riding.
Check out the rim at the bead (where it meets the tire) and look for any telltale signs that the rim took a direct hit at that point.

With a wobble that bad, make sure you have all the spokes.

Yeouch, definitely needs some lovin'. Take it to Jared at Cycle Works, he'll fix you up right - tell him I sent you. Great guy, great wrench, absolute genius when it comes to wheels. I think a true will run you about 18 bones.

Err.. I might be incorrect, probably much less than that. But yeah, they do a great job. I second the spoke checking, I'm betting it's missing one.

Will do. Ill drop in there on Monday. Is that a lunch hour type of thing, or will it take a bit? Ridability? Thoughts?

Depends on how busy they are, honestly. I KNOW that Bike Rack is backed up three weeks - they won't look at anything until then. CW is backed up, but at times they will move you in if it's urgent.
You might also call the new shop - Joyride - they took Bike Rack's best wrenches with them when they opened, and since they are new, I'd bet they aren't as backed up. They're also really close to where you're at, work wise.
Avoid scheel's like the plague when it comes to wheels :).
