Hi, not even really a cyclist yet but am in the market and thought it might be wise to grab this set if it's a good deal.

Let me know~! Thanks! http://www.overstock.com/Sports-Toys/Cycling-Sport-Combo-Set/3496342/product.html

It's cheap, but you might end up upgrading every single one of those items with something better later. I wouldn't end up using any of that stuff because it looks to be crappy.

Wheel World is having a sale on Blackburn Mammoth pumps for $10. Basic cycling computers (wired and wireless) are often on sale at Target and are reliable. Better to buy a good rear light like Planet Bike's Super Flash.

Headlights are personal preference. Many use LED flashlights (some with over 100 LED's) or LED headlights for long run times and better lighting. For many/street use, it's more to be seen than to light up the road. Harbor Freight has reasonably priced LED flashlights and LED bike lights, if you don't want to spend a lot.

HI Sci Fi,

Thanks for the info. I have, oddly enough, a front and bike light i just found in my junk drawer. I had a bike more than ten years ago and somehow saved those. They are missing the components for mounting so I ordered from their site those parts and if those fit, I'm good to go. They are just Cats Eye brand nothing special, but it's a light, don't need much there.

I would get the minimum amount of equipment to start with; a helmet, lock and stuff to fix a flat. If you're not riding after dark, hold off on the lights until you commute for awhile and have a better idea of what you really want.

Spend the money on a decent pump...a computer isn't necessary for commuting. Weight really isn't a big deal.

If you plan on riding at night, buy decent lights...you'll end up wanting them later on and realize that cheap lights usually suck and don't really do much for lighting.

Thanks everyone, not getting it. Actually found my old lights from geeze, over ten years ago. Just ordered the clamps that are missing for a couple bucks :)
