Training & Nutrition - Recumbent Trainer

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

A friend gave me a recumbent trainer. If I start hitting it hard to make up for my declining saddle time on the bike (hours at work increased significantly and I can't put in actual miles)....will it help in my training for an upcoming century? Or would a straight-up stationary bike be better?

Riding in your regular position would be better. Recumbents don't let you use your glutes the same way that a standard bike does. But it'd be better than not riding, and better than running.
