im looking for a frame that has all the mounts for a racks and extra water bottles to do a long distance ride, but the jamie roy frame ive always wanted to buy has been out of stock, every time i checked, and now i think they have discontinued it at IRO cycle :(

i have no preference over steel or aluminum

right now im riding a iro mark v, but i am limited on the range since i cant mount front or back racks to load up panniers.

any and all suggestions for frames are welcomed, my budget is aprox $500 at most for a frame.

the surly crosscheck is an extremely versatile frame. a cheaper alternative would be a motobecane fantom uno. both frames have eyelets for racks and clearance for fenders. if you can, try to look out for an IRO rob roy which is way better than the new jamie roy. i don't know why they got rid of it.

is the geometry more relaxed with the rob roy vs mark v?
