Can anyone recognize the model or value of this Miyata? Just popped up. Wating to hear back from them. If it is good shape, would it be worth re-selling after a good tune?

If those are canti's, yes yes yes and yes. Buy it now.
I'm not a total Miyata expert, but if that's a 1000, buy it right now. For a Miyata 1000 it's underpriced (by eBay standards) by about a factor of 5.

Yeah they sure do looks like Canti's. Let's say its not a 1000, did Miyata make any other models that features Canti's? I am hoping he responds to my e-mail. It makes me mad when people do not leave a phone number!!

No offence but, if you dont know what your looking at its probably best not to buy it.
In reality you post more threads in this section than anyone so in reality you should know more about your local values than anyone else.

They are giving the bike away at that price, regardless of model.

I'm just putting my 2 cents in here because I've been doing a lot of research on the Specialized Expedition of the 80's and from what I can tell, the Expedition is a Miyata 1000 relabeled as Specialized. There's a web site with all of the 80's Miyata brochures. As I recall; Miyata, like many of the day used 6 speed through most of the 80's. That doesn't mean the owner hasn't upgraded to 7. The sweet spot s far as value for the Miyatas, particularly for the tourers, was the use of excellent Ishiwata 022 Japanese made steel. According to an article I remember reading by Sheldon Brown, Miyata's were being made in Taiwan by 87 as I recall. I believe the 1000 used Suntour derailleurs, Shimano deerhead canti brakes (later known as Deore XT), and Sugino crankset. There was a lower end tourer, I believe it was the 710 or something.

210 and 610 were the other tourers. 310, 510, 710 and 910 were racing bikes.
