Touring - Toronto: Local Knowledge Please!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hi,
I need someone from the west end to tell me if I can walk a fully-loaded touring bike over the pedestrian bridge that runs across the Gardiner Expressway from The Queensway to Lake Shore Blvd. In other words, are there any stairs?
Thanks

There are bike paths that run under the Gardiner there, if I have it right. Are you talking about the point at the Humber River? If so, then you can use the recreational paths, no stairs required. Check the city bike map:

The Toronto thread in the Fixed gear forum race section probably has the best local knowledge on the boards.
It's been a while since I've been across that bridge, but my recollection is that there are no stairs.
