Anyone out there ever ride an older Marin B-17 frame (FS Downhill model, not the newer hardtail) Found one for $225, was wondering if it would make a decent FS starter bike for mild trails/city riding for a heavy weight
I know of 3 locally. White frame, blue swingarm. 2 of them have changed the shock for a Fox Float RL. Really good bikes, very smooth ride. One belongs to the LBS owner and he has ridden it for 4~5 years and has only just decided it is time for a new bike. He's having a hard time finding something he likes better. Another belongs to a mate who is into jumps and drops and bought it because he's sick of breaking stuff. He weighs ~230lbs.
