My local LBS is selling a 1994 Basso Loto Chorus. This bike has never been ridden. It looks like it! I was looking for an entry level roadbike, actually I was looking at the Fuji Roubaix and I saw the Basso as I was walking out. It is rather large. Its has a size 62 frame. It has all Campy parts. The salesmen says it will probably need new tires because it a 15 year old bike that's never been ridden. Bikepedia says the MSRP is about $2400. Its going for $1600. Its silver and green. Great looking bike. What do you think? It is a bargain?

First question, you mention it's large. Does it fit you? It may or may not be a bargain, but if it doesn't fit you does it really matter?

The Loto is definitely a cool bike. That price sounds really high, though. I could not get any takers in trying to sell my late 80s Loto frame for $300 a few months ago. Can you provide more detail on the condition?

Yes.
Its not just the frame. The whole bike is in excellant condition. The owner of the shop said the owner of the bike is a collector, he never rode the bike. I guess he was downsizing his collection. But the bike looks great. It is in mint condition. It looks like its "new". Except it looks like the break pads and tires make have dried out.

I have a 32-inch inseam. So there is zero clearance between my body and the cross tube. I can feel the cross tube. I know it is too big but the bike is beautiful!
