I did a fairly tough 55 mile ride Saturday, then I limped along 40 miles yesterday. My middle finger on my left hand has been on and off numb (Numb most of the time) since then. Has anyone else had this happen? I was relieved a couple times today when it didn’t feel numb, but then it would come back.

I've had that on my index finger after using a weedeater for too long. The feeling would return after about a half day - but it wouldn't go numb again. Could you have strained it versus the nerve not liking the position for an extended period?

How'd you like that last hill? I'm still recovering from a chest cold/bronchitis. I felt weak all the way-in hind site I probably shouldn't have gone. I liked the course, though.

On a different day without 54 miles of the hills and/or wind, I would have done it. I had plans for the evening and knew I wouldn't get a nap. I had to have some energy to take home with me. I walked! The guys did the same thing this year. They sneek up on you and draft. This year I asked if they'd pull a little bit, some did!!!!

I don't think I strained it. I separated my right shoulder a while back and sort of ride with more weight held up on my left hand giving my right side a break.

I have had my left index finger go numb several times on rides longer than 40 miles. The numbness would last for several days. I had a look at what position my hands naturally "wanted" to be in verses where they really were when on the hoods. (where I spend most of my time) I realized that my hoods point straight forward, but my hands would rather be at an angle. So I angled my hoods in a few degrees. I just did a century on Saturday. No numbness today. I did get a little at the end of the ride, 85+ point, but it is MUCH better. I may adjust a little bit more.

You are putting pressure on a nerve. See if you can figure out where and adjust for it.
